Moglino.com: Group of Companies «Titan» and Administration of Pskov region enter into an environmental partnership agreement

On Thursday, February 14 Mikhail Vedernikov, Governor of Pskov region and Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group of Companies “Titan” entered into an environmental partnership agreement which was signed at the venue of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi.

"Maintaining environmental safety is a fundamentally important task within the framework of our cooperation. It is important that just before the start of construction we negotiate our future joint work with partners in the field of environmental control, and the investor guarantees that the work will be carried out in accordance with the applicable laws. Transparent operation of “Titan-Polymer” is really important for the region’s residents, and we appreciate the readiness for cooperation of the Group of Companies “Titan” and personally Mikhail Aleksandrovich," said the Governor. Mikhail Vedernikov outlined that the authorities have provided and will provide all-round assistance in the implementation of the project, but at the same time will carefully monitor the fulfillment of all environmental standards and requirements.

"With 30 years of experience in implementing projects, I can say that the best technologies will be used at “Titan-Polymer” plant in Pskov, and there is no cause for alarm," said Mikhail Sutyaginsky. He informed that at the first stage the estimated protection zone of BOPET film plant will be max. 100 meters, and it will be assigned a low hazard class by degree of impact on the environment. The project for start-up of PETF pellets production plant will also meet the best international standards. "The calculated dispersion zone is about 500 meters, however, by virtue of additional technological solutions, we plan to reduce the area of the sanitary protection zone," said Mikhail Sutyaginsky. The investor also reported that the company plans to hold public hearings in order to convey to the population all specific features of the future production facility. "Residents of Pskov region have nothing to worry about," emphasized the head of the Group of Companies “Titan” once again.

Mikhail Vedernikov also added that an agreement has been reached with the management of the Group of Companies “Titan” that construction of the plant should be performed by a specialized company approved by the customer; however, the development of additional infrastructures, construction of buildings, roads and installation of utility lines should be commissioned to local companies in the first place.

“Pskovky Zavod “Titan-Polymer” LLC is an anchor resident of Moglino SEZ. A large industrial complex for import-substituting production of PETF with a capacity of up to 170,000 tons/year and BOPET with a capacity of up to 70,000 tons/year is slated to be established in the territory of the special economic zone.
