The planned cost of landfill reclamation exceeds 200 million rubles

July 13, Omsk/TASS/The project for the reclamation of the AO "Omsky kauchuk" plant's waste landfill has received a positive conclusion by the state ecological expertise of Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources. Last year, during an online teleconference with President Putin, there were many complaints about the landfill site. This was reported to TASS on Wednesday in the press service of AO GC Titan.

"Now the company has to approve the project and notify the site owner (Omsk administration) of work commencement. The work will start after that at the landfill, and the time for completion of all the planned work is 47 months," the press service reported.

The company noted that the planned cost of reclamation was more than 200 million rubles. Omsky kauchuk has already invested more than 20 million rubles in the project. Several reclamation stages will take place as designed: physical stage, then biological one. Once the waste has been removed, grass and trees will be planted.

In 2017-2018 Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources issued an order to the plant to reclaim a land plot under the landfill of solid and liquid industrial waste on the territory of the Soviet district of Omsk.

The operation of the facility was shut down back in 2012. The Investigation Committee initiated criminal proceedings for negligence against Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources employees and for violation of rules for handling environmentally hazardous waste against plant officials.
