Pig-breeding complex, meat-processing plant and feed mill plant, which are part of ‘’Titan-Agro’’ Ltd., maintain stable production level and provide the Omsk region with high-quality local products.
A wave of feverish demand for essential goods as well as food products has swept across Russia in March. There was no deficit of agricultural and animal products in Omsk region thanks to the presence of well-developed agro-industrial base, which includes feed mill “Pushkinsky”, pig-breeding complex “Petrovskiy” and meat-processing plant “Pushkinsky”.
Three separate divisions of Titan-Agro Ltd. provide the uninterrupted manufacture in the time of pandemic. The pig stock of pig-breeding complex “Petrovskiy” exceeds 60 thousands as of the end of March, sending animals for slaughter is carried out as scheduled. COVID-19 situation did not lead to the production cut-back and small ramp-up of pork production, e.g. about 3% was recorded at the first quarter of 2020 by contrast with the same period in 2019. In April the replenishment of the stores with products of Titan-Agro Ltd. goes as usual.
The sanitation measures were stepped up in all the divisions of Titan-Agro Ltd.
“Meat-processing plant works in accordance with the approved production program, given that it has a continuous production cycle, – the director of the division Alexander Kelin said. – We observe all the recommendations of the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights, like measuring the temperature of the staff at the entrance and our employees use PPE and sanitizers”.
Prophylactic innovations showed in Petrovskiy pig-breeding complex but they are only extra to the strict rules of the plant, which is classified as IV compartment facility that is a commercial farm unit with the highest biological protection class. “The entire world adheres to step up measures of the personal hygiene and disinfections, and the pig-breeding complex always works in this mode. All employees enter through sanitary inspection stations. Yes, they began to take temperature at the entrance and installed hand sanitizers for the antiseptic treatment, but otherwise we work in a standard way, according to the available plan” – the director of Petrovsky complex Alexander Kopiev said.
Prophylactic measures against the virus transmission were accepted on Pushkinsky compound feed mill too. The enterprise recorded the positive dynamics of production and offtake from January to April. “The only thing where corona virus is affected our work is the travel limit, and as a result of that it has become more difficult to present products in other regions”- the plant staff commented.
