Omsk Province: Omsk industrial enterprise participates in the development of new GOSTs

Specialists of the Quality Control Department (QCD) and Central Laboratory of the PJSC “Omsky kauchuk” took part in testing of control ingredients for the creation of new synthetic rubber standards under GOST system. These tests constitute one of the stages in the development of national state standards.

The obsolete GOSTs related to SBR and MSBR rubbers are being revised with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the work is carried out at the State Research Institute for Synthetic Rubber (FSUE NIIISK).

Previously, within the framework of the development of GOSTs by FSUE NIIISK, some new control ingredients (accelerator, activator, sulfur, stearin) and carbon black were selected instead of those that were no longer produced in Russia. The next stage included interlaboratory testing of ingredients in terms of stress-strain and curing behaviors.

"We, like other laboratories belonging to general-purpose rubber manufacturers from Voronezh, Sterlitamak and Tolyatti, received serial samples of methyl styrene and styrene rubbers of SKMS-30-ARK and SKS-30 ARK grades, a package of control ingredients for the preparation of rubber compounds, and recommendations for conducting the tests," QCD officers of “Omsky kauchuk” plant informed. "We have already handed over test reports to the organizers".

After statistical processing of the results, the data obtained will be included in the new GOST for this brand as earlier as this year. The immediate plans of the researchers include testing of control ingredients for oil-extended rubber grades SKMS-30-ARKM-27 and SKS-30 ARKM-27.

Let's make it clear that in order to assess the quality of rubbers, stress-strain and curing behaviors are determined in a rubber mixture, which is prepared with the addition of control ingredients in the laboratories of manufacturing companies. These are key characteristics for rubber processors, i.e. tire factories.
