Omsk Province: Export opportunities of Omsk petrochemical enterprises are reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin

At the plenary session of 11th Forum of All-Russian Public Organization Delovaya Rossiya, Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group of Companies “Titan” spoke about projects to create high-tech import-substituting products with great export potential.

The Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the plenary session of 11th Forum of All-Russian Public Organization Delovaya Rossiya, the key topic of discussion whereof was the role of business in achieving the country's national development goals. Among the participants of the event were representatives of the largest Russian companies, members of the expert community.

"National projects are designed to provide a breakthrough in the development of Russia, I constantly talk about this and I am sure that you agree with me. We need this breakthrough, this is our main, fundamental goal, and having achieved it we will be able to achieve what we live and work for: to ensure a steady and stable growth in prosperity and well-being of our citizens," outlined President Vladimir Putin. "And of course, these national projects should become an incentive for Russian business, for the rapid development of advanced technologies, production of new goods, services, so that our companies would strengthen their positions not only in the national, but also in the world market, and should actively participate in global production chains.

The head of state pointed out the importance of creating an integrated system for promoting domestic goods in global markets. A separate session at the Forum was devoted to export issues and development of new markets. In accordance with the national project titled "International Cooperation and Export", by 2024, the share of export of goods and services shall increase up to 20% of the country's gross domestic product.

Mikhail Sutyaginsky told the plenary session what contribution Omsk petrochemical industry can make to achieve this goal.

The Group of Companies “Titan” intends to use fully updated facilities to launch production of phenol and acetone. This will help create a number of new production lines aimed at increasing the depth of petrochemical feedstock processing and creating export-oriented products.

"But it is very important to understand that the development of specific incentives and motivation of export should be particularly based on supporting value-added export instead of export of feedstock. This year, we in Omsk intend to launch the production of phenol and acetone, these are export products. And therefore, we would like that the emphasis be placed precisely on advanced, added-value processing within the country," said Mikhail Sutyaginsky.

The Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the value of it lies in supporting industrial, non-resource exports. "The relevant programs that have been prepared by the Government are aimed precisely at this — the higher added value, the more effective output, you and I perfectly understand this. That's precisely what we are doing now, based on the fact that in industry, as far as I know, 14 rubles shall be assimilated for export per one ruble of support. In agriculture, it's 4-6 rubles per one ruble of support. Precisely in this direction we shall move. And the higher added value, the closer relationship between industries, the more jobs may be created in other industries," the Russian leader emphasized.
