“Omsk-inform”: Titan presented its environmental projects at the international forum

The projects are aimed at comprehensive reducing the industrial and traffic emission in cities, as well as at residents’ eco-culture improving.

The GC Titan delegation took part in the work of discussion platforms and panel sessions within the 11^th International Forum “Ecology” in St. Petersburg. The event is supported by the relevant committee of the RF State Duma and Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia and is an authoritative public platform for global trends discussing in environmental development, experience exchanging and dialogue creating between government, business and society.

Within the Forum program, on the 22^nd and 23^rd of October discussions were held on the best instruments and practices that are already being implemented around the world to achieve sustainable development goals. The GC Titan representatives presented solutions in the field of urban spaces eco-design.

Alina Rybina, Corporate Communications Director of the AO GC Titan, expert council member of the Russian Ecology Movement (REM), speaking at the discussion platform “Urban Space Ecology” dwelled on the existing problems of urban ecology, as well as on the company priorities relating to environmental knowledge popularization and level of residents’ ecological culture increasing.

– the GC Titan is one of the largest independent petrochemical companies of Siberia, our production sites are located in several regions of the country, which we plan to unite with one purpose, she said.  To form conscious ecological culture of the population, we have developed together with the REM “Eco-Saturday” project aimed at eco-volunteering development. We will act with the help of interactive methods, network online formats familiar to young people, contests and landscaping actions, recycling and batteries collection. Only within the project for eco-habits formation we plan to involve at least 1500 schoolchildren and students in each presence region, in addition, we will form teams of environmental volunteers and organizers of educational campaigns.

At the panel session “Oxygen percentage: the implementation of the project “Pure air”, another GC Titan representative Alexey Obukhov, the head of the working party on legislation improving of the Chemical Industry Committee of the Business Association Delovaya Rossiya reported about the pilot project of the company “Clean Air Formula” aimed at comprehensive reducing the industrial and traffic emission in big cities. This ready-made solution includes the developments implementation of the chemical industry enterprises in the field of components for “green” tires, modern types of motor fuel and innovative road surface.

- “The GC Titan participates in the project implementation “Pure Air” at its Omsk site, upgrades the equipment with great ecological effect. However, in current activities there are many controversial points associated with contradictive norms of environmental legislation, which need to be changed particularly concerning danger of environmental disturbance ranking,” the speaker stated.

The experience and suggestions of the GC Titan will be taken into account in the forum final document processing - a public resolution on environmental protection and ecological development of Russian Federation.
