A series of tours across the production site of the AO Omsky kauchuk plant (part of the AO GC Titan) has been launched. As part of the celebration of the plant’s 60th anniversary, employees’ children, retired employees of the plant, students of schools, technical schools and colleges will visit the plant. More than 50 children have already taken part in the first tour.

During the tour, organized by the plant chief technologist Vsevolod Lozanov, the children had a chance to see the technological and support shops, particularly, updated facilities for the production of phenol and acetone, cumene, and isopropyl alcohol.

A tour across the I&CE shop was also conducted. These technologies are used not only in the majority of industrial enterprises but in regular houses to monitor electricity, water and gas consumption. There are a number of sites and workshops in the shop in which instrumentation and control equipment is adjusted and repaired, programming of process controllers is performed. The shop staff also services operating devices and supervises the installation of new equipment.

“Visiting the plant was very exciting. I am interested in chemistry and would like to work here,” Nastya Roschina said. Her dad works at the cumene production facility. “It was really informative and, sometimes, even hard to understand, but in general it was useful and surprising.”

The school students visited the corporate museum as well. They were told about the company's history and shown samples of products manufactured in different periods of operation.  Among the most interesting things were the castings of the first rubber produced at the plant, and gifts from plants located in Hungary, Tobolsk and Yaroslavl.  The children were shown a dummy demonstrating the use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment. The Red flags which were given to the team for outstanding work achievements in 1960-1970 are still kept in the museum.

The next tour will be organized for retired employees of the plant.  

We should note that the key Omsk enterprise GC Titan is celebrating its 60^th anniversary in October 2022.  The program of celebration events was launched at the end of March. In total, the celebration program includes more than 20 sports, cultural, youth and festive events.
