“Komsomolskaya Pravda”: The next generation fuel will appear on the Russia’s market

Joint development of the next generation fuel was carried out by the AO GC Titan together with the scientists of Saint Petersburg Mining University

Oxygenates will be the main component of the new product line. Their application will make fuel more environmentally friendly and improve quality specifications of the utility product.

Experienced car users still remember that acrid smell of exhaust gases in the places where there were many cars with their engines started. It was the AO GC Titan, the first company in Russia to arrange methyl tert-butyl ether the production, which made it possible to replace highly toxic tetraethyl lead in the fuel. It was the first step for the company to the production of clean fuel types.

Chief Editor of the portal Pronedra Dmitry Kiryan told us why petroleum products would still remain relevant for a long time:
“Electricity price may increase dramatically in the countries that intend to ban the use of internal combustion engines. Solar and wind generation technologies remain quite expensive, that is why emerging countries will continue using carbohydrates. In such conditions the production and use of more environmentally fuel should be a priority in coming years”.

The largest petrochemical holding is preparing to demonstrate oxygenate-based fuel components. It will enable domestic companies to produce Euro-6 gasoline, increasing competitiveness as well as products import.

Another novelty will be the production of a high-cetane component with unique specifications. Using this new fuel type will reduce harmful emissions by 40-60%. Its quality specifications have been improved.  It will be possible to use diesel fuel even in arctic cold conditions.
