The day before, Omsk Mayor Sergey Shelest together with the General Director of the Group of companies Titan Olga Tarasenko visited the creative workshop of the sculptor Mikhail Minin, where work has already been underway for several months on a monument devoted to Ivan Bukhholz, founder of the city of Omsk. Funds for the creation of the monument were allocated by the philanthropist - the founder of the Titan Group Mikhail Sutyaginsky.

- The sculpture model of the sculpture on a scale of 1:1 is almost completely ready. Its weight is about five tons. In about a week, specialists will start molding. As a result, a set of parts will be obtained according to the principle of a 3D puzzle, which will then be sent to Yekaterinburg for bronze casting. Then the monument will be covered with a special composition so that it doesn’t lose its original color,” Sergey Shelest wrote on his Telegram channel.

The project authors paid special attention to the details of Omsk founding father’s ammunition.  The figure possesses a gorget that is a special badge, a holster, which is a saddle bag for pistols, as well as a special officer’s sword.

The monument height taking into account the pedestal will be almost nine meters, which makes it truly majestic. The bronze Buchholz on horseback will face the Irtysh, like the Bronze Horseman in St. Petersburg faces the Neva River.

— By the way, we also discussed the upcoming improvement of the embankment area where the sculpture will be installed. Now the project is being developed, engineering surveys are being conducted. The work will also be financed by a philanthropist,” Sergey Shelest added.

It’s worth reminding that a nine-meter bronze monument to Ivan Buchholz is planned to be installed on Irtyshskaya embankment opposite the “Ocean” supermarket to the 307^th anniversary of Omsk foundation.
