Kommercheskiye Vesti: GC Titan hosted federal teleconference for Chemist's Day

On May 25 there was a nationwide teleconference in honor of Chemist's Day, organized by the Group of Companies and the Russian Union of Chemists. This year it has united of the industry enterprises from 20 regions of Russia and lasted for 8 hours.

During the live broadcast enterprises spoke about their achievements, as well as new areas of work. The main questions of this year telethon were low-tonnage chemistry and development prospects of this sector.

"Today chemistry has become one of the most important sectors of the economy, the role of small and medium-tonnage chemistry, of course, has especially increased. Both large-tonnage chemistry and other spheres of the national economy cannot do without the products of this sector. We are import-dependent in some positions of low-tonnage chemistry," said Mikhail SUTYAGINSKY, Head of the Chemical Industry Committee of Delovaya Rossiya and Chairman of the Russian Union of Chemists' Committee on low-tonnage chemistry. – Russia is a self-sufficient country with huge amount of resources. And today we have gained a good pace. We are paying a lot of attention to the industry, so I think we will achieve all the goals we have set."

This year GC Titan was the main organizer of the All-Russian teleconference bridge initiated by the Russian Chemists Union. The Group of companies undertook many housekeeping issues, development of the concept, design of television studio of the event, formation of the prize fund.

"For us, the GC Titan, it is important to work with the industry community. We support and are the organizers of federal events on actual topics relevant to the industry. Just recently, in March, together with Delovaya Rossiya's Chemical Industry Committee and the Russian Chemists Union we held a round discussion and a scientific conference. We discussed the development of the Russian chemical industry and, of course, the development of small and medium-tonnage chemistry. The conference will be held on a regular basis," said Olga TARASENKO, General Director of the AO GC Titan.

Olga Tarasenko also emphasized that over the last year there were significant events at Titan Group of Companies. These are the anniversary of the key Titan Group's enterprise – AO “Omsky kauchuk” and the launch of BOPET film production in Pskov region.

"Now we have directed our efforts to the projects on creation of production facilities in the field of low-and medium-tonnage chemistry based on phenol and acetone derivatives," General Director said.

The Head of Omsk region, Vitaly Khotsenko, supported the plant and congratulated the employees and partners of AO “Omsky kauchuk” during the live teleconference.

"The chemical industry was, is and will be one of the reliable pillars of Omsk economy. AO “Omsky kauchuk” is an example of in-demand production, the plant is focused on strengthening the industrial sovereignty of our country. Further development of the regional economy, growth of tax proceeds and appearance of new high-tech work places at the labor market we, among other things, connect with the successful work of enterprises of the GC Titan," Vitaly Khotsenko said.

General Director of the AO "Omsky kautchuk" Sergey Ivanilov told us in a live broadcast that this year the company celebrated the 55th anniversary of the first production release in the shop for phenol and acetone production. "Just two weeks ago we produced our two-millionth ton of phenol. As for the import substitution program: at the plant's water unit we completely switched to domestic components. I thank the staff of the plant for their diligent work!"

We should remind that the Group of companies Titan has taken part in the TV marathon dedicated to the Chemist's Day since 2021. The initiative of the Russian Union of Chemists to unite the chemists in the on-line marathon was also supported by other enterprises of the petrochemical industry, representatives of federal and regional authorities, public organizations and workers of the chemical industry. The event features real-time congratulations, video presentations of enterprises, honoring of honored workers and labor veterans. The rich program of the teleconference allows us to completely immerse ourselves in the work of the largest petrochemical companies and to get acquainted with domestic producers
