The grand opening of three exhibitions is going to be held on the 25^th of February in the Omsk Vrubel Museum of Fine Arts within the framework of a large project dedicated to the 200^th anniversary of Omsk region. The AO GC Titan is a partner of the project.  

The Museum project, dedicated to the anniversary, includes three exhibitions. Two of them are connected by the image of a horseman, a nomad pictured on the historic coat of arms of Omsk region (as it was in 1825).

The exhibition called “In the red field on a white horse” tells about heraldry (the science which studies coats of arms) and heraldic symbols of Siberia, Omsk region and Omsk in the past and present. Teachers and students from Omsk Costume Design School together with a painter Vladimir Chupilko prepared a number of modern and surprising interpretations of the historic coat of arms of Omsk region.

The second exhibition called “The horsemen of the earth and the sky” includes artworks related to the horsemen portrayed by painters from ancient times to the present day. For instance, at the exhibition you can see the most ancient artworks - terracotta figurines of the I-II centuries found on the territory of the Northern Black Sea coast, archaeological artifacts from Medieval Times (X–XII centuries) found in the Irtysh region of Omsk, Russian icons and copper casting from the 19th century, and paintings, graphics, and sculpture artworks as well.

The third exhibition called “Gorgeous animals” is a long-term project which is located in four halls of The Governor General's Palace. This project includes many peculiar animalistic images in paintings, graphics, sculptures, objects of arts and crafts (furniture, clocks, candelabras, vases) from late XVI-XX centuries which are part of the collection of the Vrubel Museum, the State Regional Art Museum Liberov Center, and the Art of Omsk City Museum.

Among the exhibits are the throne chair of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna with elephant-like armrests and silver lions; armchairs, tables, clocks, cabinets with paw feet, armchairs with swan-like armrests, and many others.

The “Gorgeous animals” exhibit features a one-of-a-kind "project within a project". The works of contemporary artists from Russia and Kazakhstan, created on the eve of the opening right in the halls of the museum, are next to the objects from the museum collection. These are "portraits" of outlandish furniture from the Omsk collection, revealing its animal essence.

The exhibitions are held in the Governor-General's Palace (Lenina St., 23) with the support of the Titan Group of Companies, which responded to the initiative of the Vrubel Museum to tell people from Omsk about the history of Omsk region and the museum collection through the prism of creativity.
