The "Victory Banner" monument was opened in Pskov region with the support of the AO GC Titan

Today the "Victory Banner" memorial monument (created with the participation of Titan Group of companies) was opened in Pskov region. The memorial is installed near the federal highway M-9 "Baltia", at the entrance to the village of Idritsa in Sebezhsky district. "Victory Banner" is a symbolic image of the flag of Idritsa division, which Soviet soldiers hoisted on the roof of the Reichstag building in Berlin on the night of April 30 to May 1, 1945.

The monument consists of 10 pylons of different heights, lined up in two rows. They represent an artistic composition reminiscent of the cloth of the banner. The initiative to create a memorial came from Russian Military Historical Society. A contest for the best model was held, and the winner was the project by the sculptor Denis Stritovich.

The area around the memorial has been landscaped and is ready to be visited by tourists. The first flowers near the monument appeared before the official opening.

The funds for the monument were collected through a crowdfunding campaign, which was attended by all willing residents and organizations of Pskov region. The Titan-Polymer plant was among the participants.

The opening ceremony was attended by Vladimir Medinsky, assistant of the Russian President, and Mikhail Vedernikov, governor of Pskov region. General Director of Titan-Polymer plant German Petrushko laid flowers at the monument.

"The preservation of historical memory is an important public task; business should not stay away from such initiatives. Belonging of this symbol to Pskov region is a subject of special pride, there is no such thing in any other region," commented General Director of Titan-Polymer plant German Petrushko.
