The Group of Companies «Titan» received equipment for the production of isopropyl alcohol

Within the framework of the cumene production facility reconstruction project with the organization of the isopropyl alcohol production, a column intended for the isopropanol rectification (purification) unit and internal contact devices for it arrived to a site of “Omsky kauchuk” plant (is included into the Group of Companies “Titan”).

The column will purify isopropyl crude alcohol from impurities to produce a commercial product. The company Sulzer is the supplier of the column and contact devices for it, which is a large foreign manufacturer of equipment for industry, including for the media separation in the petrochemical industry.

This is the largest unit of equipment purchased by the enterprise within the project framework. Its length is 38 meters, 55 high-performance single-flow valve devices of tray type are located in the interior space with the diameter of 1.2 meters.

Two cranes with the lifting capacity of 80 and 110 tons, respectively, were involved in the equipment unloading. The column weight with installed devices reaches 30 tons. At present the foundation is being prepared for the subsequent unit installation.

Besides, operations are underway regarding the construction of a process unit and operator room at the cumene production site of “Omsky kauchuk” plant. The personnel of contractors and repair services of the plant lays feedstock and industrial gas pipelines, as well as the installation of pipe bridges. 4 pipelines with the total length of over 4500 meters have already been laid.

The cumene production facility reconstruction project at “Omsky kauchuk” plant implemented by the Group of Companies “Titan” provides for the increase in production volumes by 33%. It is a part of the comprehensive re-equipment plan of the company’s industrial site. The production transfer to a more modern and environmentally friendly process of alkylation on zeolite catalyst, which eliminates the formation of effluents and complies with the principles of the best available technologies is a feature of this reconstruction. The advanced technology will allow to reduce the environmental impact by several times, and a modern automatic control and adjustment system allows to minimize the human factor impact. The start of the isopropyl alcohol production will give an impetus to the development of eco car care products on its bases (windshield washer fluid, antifreezes etc). Such eco car care products have a minimal impact on the environment.
