The Group of Companies «Titan» prepares for planting more than 300 seedlings under an agreement with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology

The largest petrochemical enterprise of the Group of Companies «Titan»— «Omsky kauchuk» plant — proceeded to the second phase of basic landscaping and industrial zone greening at the beginning of autumn. The work is carried out in accordance with the Agreement on Environmental Partnership signed between the company and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Omsk region on February 13, 2019.

The first fall plantings took place today: 30 oaklings were added to the green belt along Gubin Avenue. In total, over 300 oaks and mountain ashes, as well as 30 large-size spruce trees, are intended to be planted in autumn.

«Planting of saplings in open ground is performed in spring and autumn», says Tamara Ivanchikova, Forewoman of Greenery at the PJSC «Omsky kauchuk». «This year the spring turned out to be cold, and we postponed the maximum volume of planting to the fall. For greening, we mainly use oaks, since these trees have the highest oxygen productivity. We also plant pines and firs, whose oxygen productivity is a little bit lower. We plant mountain ashes on the factory premises for wintering birds that live in the territory of the enterprise. They enjoy rowanberries greatly».

To provide planting material, several thousand saplings are grown in the company's own nursery — oaks, lindens, mountain ashes and pines. Now the shop workers are picking the strongest trees.

In the first half of 2019, employees of the business unit of «Omsky kauchuk» planted about 40 coniferous saplings (spruce, cedar, thuja, mountain pine). The enterprise received planting material in exchange for almost two tons of waste paper collected in the spring during traditional action «Bring waste paper and get a tree». In addition, another 40 fir trees were planted on the premises of the enterprise and along Gubkin Avenue.

Totally, under the Agreement, the Group of Companies «Titan» and «Omsky kauchuk» will plant about 3,000 trees until 2024.

An additional batch of saplings not provided for by the Agreement will be planted in the sponsored territories: in honor of the 30th anniversary of the company, 30 new plants will appear in the sponsored veterans square, as well as in schools under the patronage of the Group of Companies «Titan» — Nadezhdinskaya and Petrovskaya Secondary Schools and Gymnasium No. 12.
