27 journalists and authors of different age were awarded with graduate certificates. With the support of the AO GC Titan, in two months the participants visited master-classes in different areas. Tours to city enterprises, as well as trips to specially protected natural areas of Omsk region were organized for the participants.
On the last school day the group was told how to prepare content for an environmental topic and how to create media projects correctly in order to get federal grants.
“People do not notice good projects and ideas very often. It happens because such projects are presented in a wrong way and the audience doesn’t understand main points. This is especially important when an up-to-date project needs funding and is competing for the right to receive a federal grant. Even such a small mistake like filling out an application incorrectly may influence the final result,” said Alina Rybina, deputy general director for corporate communications of the AO GC Titan. “Among the students of the school there are authors who have their own environmental media projects. I think my vast experience in this area will be useful to them.”
At the end of the training course, the company singled out one of the participants, who proved to be the most active. With the support of the AO GC Titan Tatiana Masterskih will upgrade her qualification in Moscow which will allow her to develop own eco-blog.
During the first training session of the Eco-school, federal experts acted as lecturers. For example, Manager of educational eco-projects Sergey Elizarov mentioned that it was important for a journalist, who writes about ecology, to be ideologically interested in this area and have lots of information. During the tours to industrial sites up-to-date process facilities that comply with all eco-regulations were demonstrated to the students.
A group of young journalists visited such specially protected natural areas as Bird Harbor Park. There was also a trip to the reserve Stepnoy in Okoneshnikovsky district, where participants took a master class on making artificial nests and ringing wild ducks.
In the near future, a new enrollment of students in the Eco-school for modern media will start. The educational program is designed for the whole summer: there will be both trips to unique natural places and meetings with interesting speakers. At the same time the Omsk Union of Journalists - the initiator of the project - will hold a creative competition for the best ecological information special project. The Grand Prix of the contest is a trip to the festival of modern journalism All Russia-2022 in Sochi.
All classes at the Eco-school for Modern Media are free of charge. More details about the project can be found in the official VKontakte page Ecoschool for Modern Media, as well as in the telegram channel EcoMediaOmsk.
