The AO GC Titan is implementing eco-habits projects

Special boxes for empty batteries have been installed in two divisions of the AO GC Titan in Omsk. Empty batteries will be transported directly to a recycling plant in Chelyabinsk.

“The AO GC Titan pays a lot of attention to eco-projects: we often hold eco-events and eco-challenges. Our employees take part in clean-up days and plant trees. All our environmental initiatives are part of the Eco-Saturday Project,” Deputy General Director for Corporate Communications of the AO GC Titan Alina Rybina commented. “Installation of boxes for empty batteries is another important step to create green culture. Such initiatives shape new good habits that encourage more and more people to take care of the environment.”

The boxes were installed at the entrance to the administrative buildings. The boxes can be filled with batteries up to a total weight of 30 kg. Once filled, they will be transported to a special recycling plant in Chelyabinsk. We should note that almost 95% of a recycled battery will turn into materials for new facilities and can be further used in metallurgy, pharmaceuticals and organic synthesis; while one battery at a damp can spoil about 20 m² of soil.

We should add that the first batteries collection event at the AO GC Titan was held in 2015. Today there collection points of galvanic elements at other Titan enterprises, for example, at the Pskov Titan-Polymer plant.
