Regional project for creation of petrochemical complex approved by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade

Complex of petrochemical production facilities of Omsk region — operating and prospective — was presented to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexei Besprozvannykh during the 2nd International Scientific-Expert Forum «Growth Resources. Chemistry for Life: State and Business».

The project is implemented by the Group of Companies «Titan» with the support of the Government of Omsk region and Alexandr Burkov, head of the region.

Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Chairman of the Board of the “GC «Titan» JSC reported to the Deputy Minister about the progress of the complex creation and plans of its further development:

«We are about to complete the works at phenol-acetone production facility and are ready to start construction of isopropyl alcohol production facility. Concurrently the specialists of the company are also searching partners for the next stages. It is not an easy process, since we choose only the best technologies in terms of quality of end products and, what is especially important, in terms of ecology of production process».

The head of the company noted that the chain of production facilities was formed in Omsk region aimed at advanced refining of hydrocarbons — from production of phenol-acetone to manufacturing of exclusive brands of epoxy resines. «The project will enable to solve the strategic task of the industry and our country — to develop low-tonnage chemistry», he added.

Alexei Besprozvannykh supervising the issues of regional industrial policy and implementation of complex industry development projects in constituent entities of the Russian Federation highly praised the company's site in Omsk and its potential of development. He emphasized the necessity of inclusion of new production facilities into created clusters.

«In case industrial and technology park is created within the framework of Petrochemical Industrial Cluster with support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the number of cluster members will increase from 17 to 40 in the nearest 2 years», explained Mikhail Sutyaginsky to Deputy Minister.

Summarizing the meeting results, Alexey Besprozvannykh proposed to colleagues from the Ministry of Industry and Trade to consider Omsk region as possible site for holding of Coordination Council under the aegis of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
