«Poliom» will perform additional check of load on road bed

Portable scales for additional check of weight of loaded trucks were installed at joint venture of the Group of Companies «Titan», Gazprom Neft and SIBUR.

The new equipment is intended for static determining of weight of a loaded motor vehicle and its axial loads. Additional 3 workplaces were created at the enterprise for maintenance of the weighing equiment.

«Pursuant to road traffic regulations weight of cargo and distribution of load on axes shall not exceed the values established by manufacturer of the vehicle», explained Igor Tikhonov, General Director of «Poliom», Ltd. «Design load preserves the road bed and prevents its deformation. In this regard, we, as a responsible shipper, decided to perform additional control of loading quality».

Portable scales manufactured in Russia is a battery operated stand-alone device which exchanges data with the terminal using a radio channel. Modern laptop is used as the terminal. The laptop saves weighing results in the device's memory and sends the data to road services when necessary.

Accuracy of measurements is proved by FSFI Omsk Center for Standardization and Metrology employees of which carried out calibration of scales. Besides, the portable scales are equipped with modern stainless steel sensors ensuring high accuracy of operation of the device under all weather conditions.

«Database of the terminals contains extensive list of models of trucks and trailers», told Alyona Rodionova, head of the Logistics, Supply Chain and Stores Management Department of «Poliom», Ltd. «An employee servicing the scales enters the parameters into the software and weights a vehicle and the software evaluates excess of established regulations. Only after the employee makes sure «Poliom», Ltd complies with the requirements in terms of established admissible weights and axial loads, he issues a relevant certificate».

It should be noted that 30-35 heavy-duty trucks with the enterprise's products are shipped every day from the plant's industrial site.
