«Poliom» shared the practice of lean manufacturing

Members of Union «Omsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry» visited production facilities of the joint venture of the Group of Companies «Titan», Gazprom Neft and Sibur. Studying of the newest management and ecological practices implemented at «Poliom» was the purpose of the visit.

At production control lab the visitors got acquainted with the procedure of multi-level control of quality of raw materials and end products. Also the Union members could trace back all production chain from hydrocarbons warehouse to packing of ready polypropylene.

The guests were curious to learn about the tools of lean manufacturing implemented at Omsk Polypropylene Plant. Poliom introduced elements of system of workspace arrangement and rationalization 5S, information stands of cooperation with contractors, stands of control of production activity on which information regarding volume of manufactured products, raw materials contruction and other relevant for colleagues information is specified, «safety briefing» is arranged (a story devoted to real event related to safety issues with corresponding conclusion).

Poliom employees take active part in individual and collective incentive program «Leader» aimed at improvement of labour quality and culture and 27 employees were nominated the best in this field as well as participate in continuous improvement program «Improvement Step by Step». 219 proposals were submitted 66 of which were implemented only during the first year of the program.

«Jointly with Omsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry we launched a project of experience exchange between the companies. And in our opinion «Poliom» is an enterprise which can serve as an example of proper arrangement of production and work with personnel. What we have seen today — incentive systems, 5S — is successfully implemented and used by the plant», noted participant of the tour Dmitri Golovanov. «We are grateful for warm reception and answers to our questions».

It should be noted that the delegation included representatives of the companies working in the field of industry, agriculture, logistics and transport: all of them are graduates of Presidential Management Training Program.
