«Poliom» improves energy efficiency of production facilities

Thermal blankets were installed on shutoff valves of steam pipes of joint venture of the Group of Companies «Titan», Gazprom Neft and SIBUR in November 2018 within the framework of large-scale investment project. The expected positive effect was obtained just in the first month of operation — the plant saved almost 400 Gcal of heat energy.

This project has been implemented by power engineers of «Poliom» over 5 months. Specialized Russian company was supplier of the equipment (Saint Petersburg). In total, 224 thermal blankets were custom-made and installed.

The use of thermal blankets is the optimal solution to the problem of reducing heat loss through uninsulated pipe connections and fittings. This method is adopted at the largest enterprises of the industry. Thermal blankets made of polymer materials significantly reduce heat transfer with the environment and are secured using special fasteners, so they are quickly mounted and dismounted.

It should be noted that the amount of heat saved through the installation of thermal blankets is sufficient for heating a multi-storey building for one month. Expected useful life of the thermal blankets is 10 years.
