NZSM has launched the introduction of a new Arctic product

Novocherkassk Lubricant Production Plant (is a part of the Group of Companies “Titan”) sent a pilot batch of a lubricant for drilling fluids to a consumer in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. One of the largest Russian oil companies will test the new product.

The lubricant additive “Titan-Eco” was developed by specialists of Novocherkassk plant based on mineral oil mixed with surfactants and anti-wear additives. It is used as a component of water-based drilling fluids and has improved characteristics compared to domestic counterparts.

“The additive is suitable for drilling vertical, directional and horizontal wells, both during rotary drilling and when using mud motors,” explained specialists of NZSM. “Titan-Eco reduces friction and buildup of rock on the tool, increases the drilling speed, prevents corrosion of tools and equipment, extending its service life”.

Besides, “Titan-Eco” lubricant additive has a low pour point (up to –45 ˚С), which allows it to be used when drilling in the northern regions of the country.

A batch of 10 tons was delivered to the consumer enterprise in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District in early December. Within three months of pilot testing it’s necessary to confirm the additive declared properties. In the case of receiving a positive opinion from the consumer, the plant will start the production of industrial batches of the product.

We remind that in the year 2018 NZSM launched the production and sale of another Arctic product for the mining industry – process fluid “Titan”, possessing improved environmental characteristics and designed for hydrocarbon-based solutions.
