Novocherkassk Lubricant Production Plant (NZSM LLC) optimizes the production of antiseptics

In May Novocherkassk Lubricant Production Plant (a part of the GC “Titan”) will concentrate on the production of an alcohol-based antiseptic gel under its own trademark. In future the company plans to master the production of aqueous antibacterial solutions.

Within the period of fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic, antibacterial agents continue to be in a high demand in Russia. According to representatives of Novocherkassk plant, the most popular option among consumers, demanded by both individuals and organizations, is a water-alcohol solution with a high content of isopropyl alcohol (up to 70%). They are inexpensive and simple in use. NZSM LLC is capable to produce up to 500 tons of such solution per month. “However, due to the approaching summer season, we decided to concentrate on a more convenient form for use - a gel, the formulation of which had already been introduced into production”, the company’s officials state.

We remind that the antiseptic gel formula was developed and tested by the company early in April 2020.

“The alcohol content in the gel remains at a level sufficient for ensuring maximum efficiency, at the same time the addition of safe polymer thickeners will make it easy to dispense and apply the product, as well as prolong its antibacterial effect”, says Nikolai Averin, one of the heads of the antiseptic production line. - The antiseptic also contains vitamin E, Aloe Vera extract and skin softening components. The product is available in 300 ml containers”.

“The direction for the production of household antiseptics is currently a strategic one and will continue to develop; we have involved our research division for the development of new formulas”, Natalia Prudnikova, Deputy General Director for Commercial Matters remarks.

“On the basis of our laboratory, we conduct color, odor and pH studies. Our antiseptic fully complies with the Technical Specifications,” Anna Gaidukova, Head of Testing and Industrial Laboratory says.

We remind that specialists of all three production sites of NZSM LLC are involved in the production of antiseptic products. In Novocherkassk formulations of antiseptics are developed, that is the research work and production of the concentrate – semi-finished preparation of future products are conducted. The concentrate is sent to Tula (town of Aleksin) and Nizhny Novgorod divisions of Novocherkassk Lubricant Production Plant, where there are filling lines for the filling of antiseptic products.
