New air supply unit was tested at «Omsky kauchuk» plant

A new compressor unit installed at the site of the PJSC «Omsky kauchuk» supplied first compressed air into the plant network at the final stage of commissioning works.

Load testing of equipment which lasted for 72 hours was completed successfully. The unit was tested in various operation modes, parameters of which were controlled by specialists of «Omsky kauchuk» plant and representatives of the equipment supplier.

It is appropriate to recall that the equipment was supplied to the largest enterprise of the GC «Titan» within the framework of planned modernization of infrastructure, European company Atlas Copco — world leader in supplies of air compressors, vacuum pums and industrial gas generators — is the supplier. The unit consists of heavy duty turbine-driven air compressor with a capacity of 16 thous. m3/h, 4 drying units and self-contained cooling system.

Works on designing, assembly and connection of the unit to existing utility lines were performed by specialists of Omsk contractor. Start-up and commissioning was performed by engineering supervisors of supplier Atlas Copco.

All equipment has outstanding environmental performance: main component of cooling system — compact dry-type cooling tower — has closed loop system and is, therefore, isolated from the atmosphere, requires no water consumption and no costs for water treatment.

The new unit will enable to get high-quality compressed air for the needs of existing and future production facilities of the GC «Titan», where it will be used in plant process. Its use will increase safety of air supply system of the enterprise as a whole.

It is worth reminding that two turbine-driven air compressors of Atlas Copco have already been put in operation at «Omsky kauchuk» plant.
