Mikhail Sutyaginsky outlined the conditions for the low-tonnage chemistry development

On July 22, Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "GC “Titan” JSC participated in an online session of the International Industrial Exhibition “Innoprom”. The low-tonnage chemistry development is in the focus of attention of the online meeting participants.

How did the coronavirus pandemic affect the industry and what are the state support mechanisms relative to low-tonnage chemistry projects - these ones and other issues were discussed by the representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Ministry of Industry of Omsk region, Russian Union of Chemists and industrial enterprises.

At this event Mikhail Sutyaginsky spoke about the work of the “Delovaya Rossia” (“Business Russia”) chemical industry committee, headed by him, in the sphere of the low-tonnage chemistry development, as well as about the importance of this sphere for the society. “During the pandemic, we once again saw how mobile low-tonnage chemistry turned out to be. Manufacturers quickly reorganized their facilities for the production of the output in demand - antiseptics, individual safety equipment”.

He remarked the problems faced by industrialists during the project implementation in the low-tonnage chemistry sphere - the need for the feedstock availability and dependence on infrastructure, and also he named necessary measures to support the industry.

“The output of low-tonnage chemistry products requires support measures similar to those ones in special economic zones. Besides, it is important to strengthen the support of the SEZ anchor residents, - considers the head of the GC “Titan”, - here in Omsk the enterprises of the GC “Titan” were included in the number of the residents of the Special Economic Zone “Avangard”, where measures to support manufacturers were determined”.

Meanwhile, according to Mikhail Sutyaginsky, low-tonnage chemistry can become a growth point for representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, and also to provide opportunity for increasing the range of products of large enterprises. “For instance, regarding catalysts - most of them are considered as low-tonnage chemicals. There are tens of thousands of them, and we import some part of them.” “The exemption from federal taxes can become one more effective support measure, so that enterprises producing low-tonnage chemicals send funds for the repayment of bank loans of the Industrial Development Fund and other financial institutions. Besides, large companies should be given preferences if they have contracts with manufacturers of low-tonnage products,” concluded Mikhail Sutyaginsky.

For reference:

INNOPROM is the leading industrial exhibition in Russia dedicated to the latest technologies and developments in the industry. It has been held annually in Yekaterinburg since 2010.
