Mikhail Sutyaginsky congratulated the “Avangard” on the victory

On April 28 the Omsk hockey team won the over CSKA Moscow in the sixth match of the final series of the Gagarin Cup in the 2020/2021 season. The match took place at the “Arena- Balashikha”stadium and ended with a score 1:0 in favor of Omsk hockey players.

The result of the eventful 2020/2021 season was the HC “Avangard”won this prestigious trophy for the first time in its history.

On April 29 it is expected that the full team goes to Omsk and brings the Gagarin Cup.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of АО GC Titan Mikhail Sutyaginsky sent greeting to the team:

“ I am as a fan of hockey and the “Avangard” fan with the big experience I am so glad that the Omsk hockey club won the Gagarin Cup. Our sportsmen showed very decent and very beautiful game. They deserved the highest award, and this is, of course, our common victory” he noted. “I congratulate our hockey players and Omsk people! There were few people who believed in our victory, but “Avangard”broke all the stereotypes by its game. It was a landmark event that will make our city known throughout Russia.”

We should remember that the AO GC Titan supports the Omsk professional hockey and HC “Avangard”for the last 17 years, including after the forced change of the team's base to Balashikha.

AO GC Titan actively develops this sport. The company has two amateur hockey teams. Also AO GC Titan is the “Night Hockey League” partner in Omsk region. The ice team assembled from the 40 years old and older sportsmen was made almost 20 years ago and became the champion of the “Night Hockey League” three times in the region and successfully played on the “Night Hockey League” festival in Sochi. The head of the AO GC Titan and the head of the team Mikhail Sutyaginsky played hockey together with the president of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

This connection between AO GC Titan and the HC “Avangard”is deeper than it seems. From 1967 to 1972 the Omsk hockey team was called “Kauchuk”and was on the books of the Omsk Synthetic Rubber Plant (today it is AO “Omsky kauchuk”which is a part of AO GC Titan).

Together AO GC Titan and HC “Avangard”contribute to the hockey popularization. So in 2019 in honor of the anniversary of AO GC Titan a match of the “Legends of Hockey” team (consisting of Olympic champions and champions of Russia in 2004 as part of HC “Avangard”) took place against “Friends of “Titan”.
