«Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) is in the finishing straight»: the project of the GC «Titan» entered the final stage of implementation

At present, the “Group of Companies “Titan” implements the project of the cumene production facility reconstruction with the isopropyl alcohol production unit at “Omsky kauchuk” plant. More than 250 people are employed at the site - representatives of eight contractors, and also employees of specialized divisions of the petrochemical enterprise.

All kinds of works relative to the IPA production organization project are performed on expedited basis, and in the near future the improvement will be started at the site.

Aleksandr Gross, project manager remarked that the basic process equipment which was necessary for the isopropyl alcohol production had been fully assembled. We remind that the first equipment units received by the GC “Titan” for the project implementation were six Russian heat exchangers for various purposes, the last ones to arrive at the site were domestic block boxes (heated modules) for the location of imported compressors in them.

“The equipment for the upper level of the automated technological process control system was already manufactured, it will soon be delivered to Omsk”, he defined more precisely.

The project is of great importance not only for the GC “Titan”, but also for the entire country, as the IPA production startup will allow to significantly reduce the share of consumption of imported isopropyl alcohol and provide Russian enterprises with high-quality raw materials. As Omsk enterprise will produce isopropanol of the highest medical quality, the project has already received support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, as well as from the Industry Development Fund at an early stage.

The cumene production reconstruction project involves the transition to more modern and environmentally friendly technologies which guarantee a multiple total reduction in the environmental impact. The isopropyl alcohol production technology provides for near-complete absence of effluents and minimal environmental impact. The volume of investments in the cumene production facility reconstruction project with the isopropyl alcohol production is about 4.6 billion rubles, and the most part of this amount is represented by the own funds of the GC “Titan”.

We draw attention to the fact that within the framework of the project implementation and modernization of production facilities in general, in August the GC “Titan” plans to hold a meeting with the public, representatives of governmental authorities and mass media. Within the framework of the event, the Group of Companies will deliver information about the production greening program.

It is applied in the chemical, oil, wood processing, perfumery and medical industries, including in the production of antiseptic agents which are especially relevant today, necessary for the treatment of hands and surfaces, as well as in medical institutions and hospitals.
