Group of companies Titan will create a production unique for this country

Group of companies Titan begins implementation of new large-scale investment project. Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AO GC “Titan” together with representatives of Swiss company, which is the technology rightholder, signed foundation documents of “RusSilica” LLC – the joint venture for the production of micronized silica gels and stable silica sols. The total investment volume is estimated at 5.2 billion rubles.

Planned for release Micronized silica gels and stable silica sols are in high demand worldwide. Silica gel is effective sorbent, which is a glassy powder and silica sol is intermediate products, which has jellylike structure.

Silica gel is absolutely safety since ordinary quartz sand is used as raw material for its production. It is used in oil refining, in chemical industry as a part of gas and liquid dehydration process and as a catalyst component. Also, it is used in food industry for drinks filtration and stabilization. In usual life it is famous wet- and smell absorber for shoes and sanitary filler. Silica sols are demanded too. It is used in pallet coverings production in steel production, anti-corrosion and non-stick coatings, adhesives, emulsion paints, etc.

Micronized silica gels production is limited in Russia and we have to import the large half of it. “RusSilica” LLC will produce silica gels in accordance with the unique patented Swiss technology, which provides great quality characteristics and allows to give the product the required properties and structure. One of the most important advantages of the process is its high ecological characteristics. German and Swiss companies will supply automatic equipment.

“We have signed foundation documents of the production enterprise, which includes two practically independent productions of stable deionized silica sol with a capacity of 21 thousand tons per year, and micronized silica gel with a capacity of 6 thousand tons per year. Implementation of the project will take about 3.5 years,” Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “GC “Titan” noted. “The first stage is development of base engineering with the following subsequent of intellectual property and design. Work in this direction will begin immediately after the creation of the joint venture.”
