Group of Companies «Titan» celebrates its professional holiday

On May 29 the Group of Companies “Titan” hosts events devoted to the Chemist’s Day which is celebrated in Russia on the last Sunday of May. In the year 2020 the holiday coincided with the self-isolation period but many of its good traditions were observed.

In honor of the holiday, the petrochemists were greeted in social networks by Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the GC “Titan”, and Farkhad Samedov, General Director of the GC “Titan”.

On May 29, special festive program went on the air of the corporate radio. The best employees of the Group of Companies “Titan” were awarded corporate and external awards, including letters of appreciation and certificates of merit of the Ministry of Industry of Omsk region, Governor of Omsk region, Omsk City Council and Omsk City Hall. The awards were transferred to the company’s divisions. The Board of Honor was also been updated. Besides, on the eve of the Chemist’s Day, partners and representatives of the enterprises of the GC “Titan” participated in a video conference devoted to the development of low-tonnage chemistry. The event was organized by the Committee of the Chemical Industry of Delovaya Rossiya” (Business Russia), Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mikhail Ivanov, President of the Russian Union of Chemists Viktor Ivanov were among the speakers.

“This holiday exists thanks to the work of the industry collectives, and especially thanks to the veterans of the production - people who commissioned factories in difficult conditions; we will try to increase achievements of our veterans and pass on their traditions to the next generations, - said Farkhad Samedov in his appeal. - I would like to always see the flourishing and friendly team, because for our company the happiness and well-being of employees is the main criterion for assessing the activity results. In the year 2019, the first part of the comprehensive modernization plan of Omsk industrial site was completed. After the technical re-equipment of the production facilities, two types of organic synthesis products - phenol and acetone returned to the portfolio of “Titan”. From acetone the company will produce a new strategically important product - isopropyl alcohol (IPA) of medical grade. The organization of the IPA production unit is included in the project of the cumene production facilities reconstruction. This project will help to solve, first of all, environmental problems: the new technology of zeolite alkylation guarantees the complete absence of process effluents and overall reduction of environmental impact by 16 times.

In connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, the production of antiseptic gels and solutions based on isopropanol was started at the production sites of Novocherkassk Lubricant Production Plant of the Group of Companies “Titan”. Based on the results of the year 2019 the Group of Companies “Titan” is the leader in the production of methyl tert-butyl ether (octane-enhancing additive to motor fuel) and synthetic butadiene (methyl)styrene rubbers for general use. The Russian share market occupied by the company in relation to each of the above types of products exceeds 20%. In the year 2019 the revenue exceeded 27 billion rubles, the total volume of manufactured products is in the hundreds of thousands of tons.
