GC Titan showed decent results in the year 2020

The GC Titan, included in the list of systemic companies of Russia, has summed up the preliminary results of its activity in the year 2020. The company has successfully passed the test of the pandemic, maintained the set pace of development and continued to implement large-scale investment projects that will contribute to the development of small-tonnage chemical industries in demand in the country.

Over the past year the Group of companies Titan has implemented a number of production facilities being important for the development of small-tonnage chemistry. In January 2020, with the participation of Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Alexander Burkov, Governor of Omsk region, the grand opening of the renewed phenol and acetone production facilities at “Omsky kauchuk” plant took place. The project provides for the increase of the production capacity by a third, it is aimed at increasing the economic potential of Omsk region and creating new high-tech jobs. Phenol and acetone are raw materials for further processing, products of which will serve as feedstock for other manufacturers. For this purpose, the GC Titan became one of the anchor residents of the special economic zone “Avangard”, being formed in Omsk.

Another project is being implemented at a rapid pace at the site of “Omsky kauchuk” plant – the reconstruction of cumene production with the creation of the isopropyl alcohol production unit. At the place of production, commissioning is underway according to the schedule followed by the attainment of the final product. The alcohol produced using modern foreign technology from acetone will be of high quality, and its production is as environmentally friendly as possible. The new product is planned to be sold both directly to consumers and for the production of demanded small-tonnage products based on it.

The construction site of Pskov plant of the GC Titan also looks impressive now. Within the framework of organizing the BOPET film production facilities, Titan-Polymer makes installation of modern European process equipment.

The adherence to the principles of social responsibility is an important feature of the company’s operation. This was especially evident in the critical situation connected with COVID-2019. Thus, taking into consideration the current increased demand for disinfectants in the pandemic era, the production facilities of all divisions of another petrochemical enterprise of the Group of companies Titan - Novocherkassk Lubricant Production Plant were reoriented to the production of antiseptics. In the fall of 2020 Titan was one of the first to respond to the request of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia to participate in the supply of oxygen needed by the country under conditions of the coronavirus infection.

Greening has become one of the priority areas of Titan in the year 2020. The modernization of industrial units is conducted at “Omsky kauchuk” plant, which will reduce the burden on the atmosphere by 20%, that is provided for by the objectives of the Ecology National Project, initiated by the Russian President Vladimir Putin. The GC Titan also became one of the developers of the corporate industrial environmental standard, which would become a tool for self-regulation of business in the field of environmental protection.

Following the policy of openness, the company has launched eco-monitoring on its website and in social networks and daily publishes information on the state of atmospheric air in the zone of influence of the “Omsky kauchuk” plant. The GC Titan constantly interacts with the public in the Internet space through its Information Center.
