GC Titan responded to the appeal of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade to provide regions with scarce oxygen to fight coronavirus

Taking into account the existing industrial capacity for the oxygen production, AO Group of companies Titan considers the possibility of its supply for medical uses in the regions of Russia. That kind of proposal has been already sent by the company to the Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation.

We shall explain that due to the new coronavirus infection pandemic there are increased requirements of the Russian Federation in medical oxygen, which is used during the pulmonary failure therapy. According to the statement of the Russian Ministry of industry and trade, currently more than 20 regions of our country, including Moscow, Tyumen and Tver and other regions suffer from the lack of oxygen for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

The largest enterprise of AO GC Titan Omsky kauchuk plant has a functional air-nitrogen station (ANS), the station’s technical and technological capacities allow oxygen production for the medical use. Hence, group of companies Titan expressed willingness to quickly modify its capacities for the setting up the manufacture of scarce substance. These days AO GC Titan is actively involved in the supplies of medical oxygen to the domestic market and it ramps up the production volumes to meet the growing demand. For that purpose AO GC Titan developed a plan aimed to upgrade the manufacture in order to organize the medical oxygen production in a larger volume.

“To this day there are four units operating as part of ANS, able to produce up to 100 tons of oxygen per month in total; and we can send this oxygen for the medical uses”, – told the superintendent of ANS of AO Omsky kauchuk Anton Shchelkunov”.

AO GC Titan creates a project group in order to materialize this strategic initiative quickly. The group involves partners from the field of logistics, scientific and technical testing, transportation as well as enterprises with a low volume of production.

“Pandemic conditions have proved as how important it is for business to quickly respond to the requests of a society for the needful medications, because it is impossible to stop the spread of infection without them, – Chairman of the Board of Directors of AO Group of companies Titan, Mikhail Sutyaginsky believes. – We responded to the call for support from the Russian Ministry of industry and trade and actively engaged into the re-orientation of production to meet the needs of the regions. We did the same thing this spring, when the Novocherkassk lube plant took just a couple of months to re-orientate a production into the production of antiseptics after the arrival of the pandemic”.
