Eco-friendly equipment is installed at «Omsky kaychuk»

Modern heat exchanger aimed at increasing performance reliability of production facilities was delivered to methyl tertiary butil ether (MTBE) shop of the PJSC «Omsky kauchuk» under a program of heat-exchange equipment modernization.

The new equipment is intended for MTBE shop. 16-ton apparatus was custom-made by specialists of Russian company «Etalon». The machine arrived from the manufacturer's plant in May.

«The delivered heat-exchanger is more reliable as compared to its predecessor in terms of a range of parameters», — noted process engineer of the shop Igor Poyarkov. — Tube bundle consisting of 1858 tubes is core element of the apparatus. It is made of corrosion-resistant materials that are more reliable in operation and reduce the risk of unplanned shutdowns. Besides, the equipment is totally leak-tight which excludes contamination of the environment with product.

Lifting crane will be used for mounting of the equipment on its position. Plant workers partially dismounted metal structures and equipment to provide access of special machines. Mounting works are expected to be completed in the second decade of June after which the shop personnel will proceed to start-up and adjustment of optimal operation mode of the new heat exchanger.

It should be noted that in compliance with the program of modernization of high-octane additives and liquefied petroleum gases production lines, which include the MTBE production shop, 3 large heat exchangers have already been replaced (see the photo).
