AO “Omsky kauchuk” celebrates its anniversary

On the 24^th of October the main division of AO GC Titan – AO “Omsky kauchuk” – celebrates its 60^th anniversary. On this occasion an awarding ceremony was organized for the best employees.

The solemn event was held in the Vrubel Omsk Regional Museum of Fine Arts. The employees of AO GC Titan as well as representatives of the Government of the Omsk region and the Omsk City Administration took part in the event.

Mayor of Omsk Sergey Shelest and Minister of Industry and Scientific and Technical Development of the Omsk region Andrey Posazhennikov were the guests of honor. The regional and municipal authorities visited the event to congratulate the team of one of the leading domestic industrial companies. 

General Director of AO “Omsky kauchuk” Sergei Ivanilov:

“Years go by, eras change, but AO “Omsky kauchuk” is still in operation. Our close-knit team successfully runs the process, upgrades the production, expands product range and increases production volume. Even during these difficult times we are confident in our plant’s stability. AO “Omsky kauchuk” is an enterprise of strategic importance for our country. It successfully completes national tasks manufacturing import substitution products of high quality. We are proud to be responsible for this. Today, the anniversary is being celebrated not only by 3 thousand plant workers, who consider the enterprise their second home! The veterans of the plant, our industry colleagues and the entire Omsk region are celebrating together with us!”

In total, 175 employees of AO “Omsky kauchuk” were awarded commemorative medals, certificates of merit, and letters of appreciation of different levels – corporate, from Titan Group of Companies, and departmental. 

In particular, four employees were awarded medals "For Services in the Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex" II degree from the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. 11 rubber workers received certificates of merit from the Ministry of Energy of Russia, three received certificates of merit from the Government of the Omsk Region, and three more received letters of gratitude from the Governor of the region. Some employees of the company were awarded certificates of merit from the Ministry of Industry of the Omsk region, letters of gratitude from the Omsk City Administration and the Omsk City Council, the Administration of the Soviet District, as well as diplomas of the Russian Union of Chemists.

One employee received the honorary title of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation - "Honorary Petrochemist".

It is worth mentioning that on October 24, 1962, the first rubber briquettes were produced, which for the first time in the USSR were made in the form of crumbs. This day officially became the birthday of AO "Omsky kauchuk" plant.

The tradition established in those years to meet the challenges of the time and be at the forefront of technological progress is still relevant. So, only in the recent years the production of high-quality phenol and acetone was launched at "Omsky kauchuk" after modernization with the use of the best available technologies, and the unit for the production of isopropyl alcohol - demanded raw material for many industries was built from scratch.

The enterprise develops perspective plans for further modernization and improvement of applied technologies. The future of the enterprise is connected with development of low-tonnage chemistry and organic synthesis production, reconstruction of large infrastructural objects is also planned.
