“A week without turnstiles” event: about 80 school students visited the Omsky kauchuk plant

Four groups of school students (about 80 children in total) visited an industrial site of the Omsky kauchuk plant (part of the AO GC Titan) within a week. The 10^th grade students from the Lyceum №66 and schools №15, 63 and 80 were among the visitors.

It should be reminded that the "Week without Turnstiles" event is an initiative of the Russian Machine-Builders Union and is held twice a year. It helps to introduce young people to local industries and working professions. The AO GC Titan has taken part in the event since 2016.

In the company's museum the children were told about the history of the plant, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. They were also shown a corporate film "Useful Chemistry", which describes the processes of synthetic rubber production in a simple language.

At the site of the Omskiy kauchuk plant the schoolchildren were shown two laboratories of technical control department: one of them checks the quality of synthetic rubber produced by the plant, and the other one analyzes the characteristics of raw materials and finished products of organic synthesis production.

Another location on the tour was a group of isopropyl alcohol and isopropyl benzene production shops. The modern production facility, which meets the most strict industrial safety requirements, made a special impression.

"We liked the tour very much, we learned a lot about the history of the company Omsky kauchuk and about its production. We visited the laboratory of the enterprise and the museum. We saw many samples of production and other exhibits that we could not only look at, but even touch", - said Sofiya Balikoyeva, a student of the 10th "technological" class of Omsk Lyceum No 66.

Titan Group of companies has an open policy and provides access to the sites for all comers by prior request. The company implements its own project "Paths of PARK", participates in the city excursion project "Industrial Tourism", and takes part in the annual "Flashmob Excursion".
