GC Titan receives Integrated Environmental Permit
The receipt of an Integrated Environmental Permit (IEP) for the Omsky Kauchuk plant (part of GC Titan) confirms the company's compliance with high environmental standards and the use of best available technologies in its production processes.
A IEP is the single document that sets standards for atmospheric emissions and regulates the handling of industrial wastes.
The package of documents submitted by the company to obtain the IEP included calculations of technological standards, permitted emission standards, data on raw materials used, as well as draft programs for production control and reduction of negative impact on the environment.
Obtaining IEP not only simplifies control, but also contributes to the introduction of cleaner and more efficient technologies in production processes.
It should be noted that the Omsky Kauchuk plant is implementing measures to modernize its production facilities in order to reduce its environmental impact. Over the past five years, Titan Group has invested a total of approximately 9 billion rubles in environmental protection measures. Among the key measures implemented was the revamping of the phenol and acetone production facilities in 2019, which resulted in a nearly twofold reduction in emissions. In the same year, the technical re-equipment of the ammonia refrigeration unit at the Omsky Kauchuk plant resulted in the reduction in ammonia emissions by 2.5 times, and the revamping of the cumene production facility in 2021 reduced the environmental impact by 87%.
Olga Tarasenko, General Director of the AO GC Titan:
"Obtaining an Integrated Environmental Permit was another important step towards sustainable development for GC Titan. We take a responsible approach to the activities of our enterprises and pay great attention to control of atmospheric emissions in our area of responsibility. At the Omsky Kauchuk plant, we are consistently implementing modern technologies that have proven their effectiveness in reducing environmental impact. Thanks to comprehensive work in this area, since 2019 we have managed to reduce total emissions by 2,700 tons per year."
