A new compressor unit has been launched at the AO “Omsky kauchuk” plant

The AO GC Titan has launched a new compressor unit at the site of the AO “Omsky kauchuk” plant. This unit will make it possible to recycle up to 400 tonnes of hydrocarbon gases. This system commissioning is the completion of the next stage of Omsk site ecological modernization.

The new domestic automated compressor unit for butane and butane-butylene fraction discharge from tank cars is rigged up in the storage workshop receiving gas feedstock and shipping finished products.

“The environmental modernization of the plant's industrial site undertaken by the AO GC Titan includes not only re-equipment and reconstruction of the facilities for the production of organic synthesis products. It is also a number of activities in the production of high-octane additives and liquefied petroleum gases. For several years, a program of technical upgrading of loading/discharging racks with closed loading systems installation and liquefied gas discharge systems improvement has been carried out in a phased manner. Due to these efforts, we have already reduced the environmental impact and achieved a significant economic effect,” General Director of the AO GC Titan Olga Tarasenko commented.

The project implementation involved workshop and contractor staff, as well as energy and instrumentation specialists of the AO “Omsky Kauchuk” plant. The compressor unit makes it possible to condense the gases generated during the discharge of butane and butane-butylene fractions from the tank cars and turn them back into liquid, which eliminates nitrogen using and necessity of vapor disposal.

“It is an important achievement in the anniversary year for “Omsky Kauchuk”. Production ecology goes hand in hand with resource saving and working conditions improvement, and this project is an outstanding example demonstrating that a single technological operation improvement results in a complex effect,” General Director of the AO “Omsky Kautchuk” Sergey Ivanilov said.

We should remind that the AO “Omsky kauchuk” has already installed two automated modules for propylene and propane-propylene fraction discharge that have demonstrated their ecological efficiency.
