Plastinfo.ru: «Omsky kauchuk» develops an instrument for megapolis environmentalization

On September 16, Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Head of the Group of companies “Titan”, Chairman of the Delovaya Rossiya's Committee on Chemical Industry, Biotechnology and New Materials presented solutions for greening large cities at the plenary session "The future of the chemical complex: investments, innovations, ecology" as part of 7th Moscow International Chemical Forum.

The Russian Chemists Union and Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade organized this largest sectoral forum. The forum became a key feature of the prestigious industry-specific event — 22nd International Exhibition "Chemistry-2019". The plenary session was opened by Alexander Orlov, Director of the Department of Chemical-Technological Complex and Bioengineering Technologies of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

At the present time, reconstruction of cumene production is in progress at “Omsky kauchuk” premises. The major purpose is to introduce a more efficient technology of production and increase output by one third — up to 160,000 tons per year.

In his speech Mikhail Sutyaginsky focused on efficient solutions in the field of petrochemistry which will favor the environmentalization of large settlements.

He reminded the audience that emissions of motor vehicles are the main source of pollution in cities with intense traffic. To reduce these emissions, specialists of the Group of Companies “Titan” developed a comprehensive program "Clean Air Formula", five modules of which the company is ready to adapt to the needs of regions of the Russian Federation. "Clean Air Formula" is based on the principles of 'green' chemistry, which implies gradual replacement of non-renewable hydrocarbon reserves with renewable vegetable resources.

"The project provides for the transfer to eco-friendly gasoline components (ETBE) and creation of eco-friendly car care products based on isopropyl alcohol to minimize impact on the environment," explained Mikhail Sutyaginsky.

The "Clean Air Formula" project also provides for the modernization of operating petrochemical production facilities with transfer to power- and resource-saving technologies. Mikhail Sutyaginsky emphasized commitment of the Group of Companies “Titan” to objectives set up by the National Project "Ecology" and reported that the largest petrochemical enterprise of the Group of Companies “Titan” — “Omsky kauchuk” plant — is about to sign a four-way agreement with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, The Federal Service for Supervision of Use of Natural Resources, and Administration of Omsk region.

Taking into account the importance of environment protection in the development of petrochemical complex, the next meeting of the sectoral committee headed by Mikhail Sutyaginsky at the venue of Delovaya Rossiya will be devoted to the topic of greening of industrial enterprises and metropolitan cities.

Mihkail Aleksandrovich invited the participants of the meeting scheduled for 11:00 AM on September 26 to take part in the discussion and present their projects and solutions aimed at the improvement of ecology in Russia.
