“Omskinform”: the first graduation from Omsk Eco-school for Modern Media

Within 2 months, the supported school trainees visited the city's enterprises, master classes with experts and specially protected areas.

The first graduation from Eco-school for Modern Media took place. 27 journalists and authors of different age were awarded with graduate certificates. Within 2 months, supported by the AO GC Titan school trainees visited master classes with experts in different areas. Tours to city enterprises, as well as trips to specially protected natural areas of Omsk region were organized for the participants.

On the last training day, the group was told about the particularities of preparing materials on environmental issues and how to prepare media projects for federal grants.

– Very often, good ideas and projects remain unnoticed because they are not properly "packed", presented succinctly and clearly with the main points. This is especially important when an up-to-date project needs funding and is competing for the right to receive a federal grant. Even technical aspects, such as incorrect completion of the application, can play an important role here, – Alina Rybina, Deputy General Director for Corporate Communications of the AO GC Titan said. – Among the eco-school students there are already authors with their own media projects on environmental issues, so I think the experience I have gained over the years in project work will be useful to the students.

As a result of the training course, the AO GC Titan gave prominence to one of the participants who had proved to be the most active. Tatiana Masterskikh, supported by the Group of companies, will improve her qualification in Moscow, thus enabling her to develop her own environmental blog.

During the first training session of the Eco-school, federal experts acted as lecturers. Thus, Sergey Elizarov, the head of educational eco-projects, spoke about the importance for journalists writing about ecology of being ideologically interested in the subject, being a carrier of information. And during visits to industrial sites, the students were shown modern, technologically advanced production facilities that comply with all environmental regulations.

A group of young journalists visited such specially protected natural areas as Bird Harbor Park. There was also a trip to the reserve Stepnoy in Okoneshnikovsky district, where participants took a master class on making artificial nests and ringing wild ducks.

A new enrolment to the Eco-School for Modern Media is about to start. The educational programme will be offered throughout the summer, providing both trips to unique natural locations and meetings with interesting speakers. At the same time, the Omsk Union of Journalists, initiator of the project, will hold a creative competition for the best environmental information special project. The Grand Prix of the contest is a trip to the festival of modern journalism All Russia-2022 in Sochi.

All classes at the Eco-school for Modern Media are free of charge. More details about the project can be found in the official group VKontakte  Ecoschool for Modern Media, as well as in the telegram channel EcoMediaOmsk.
