Omsk Administration: Omsk industrial enterprises and project organizations will celebrate the Chemist day

More than 30 employees of the city's enterprises were awarded by the Certificates of honor and letters of thanks from the city administration  on the eve of their professional holyday, which will be celebrated on May 31 this year.

As it was noted in the Department of Urban Economic Policy, tens of thousands of Omsk people work today at the petrochemical enterprises. Omsk is rightfully considered a city of great chemistry. Production of the Omsk enterprises is famous in our country and in other countries. So, JSC “Gazpromneft-ONPZ”, AO GC Titan, production association JSC "Omskshina", technical carbon plant (“Omsk Carbon Group”), “Poliom”, Ltd., LLC "Planet-Center", Federal Research and Production Center "Progress", center of new chemical technologies SB RAS, PJSC "Omskneftekhimproekt ”, JSC “Transneft-Western Siberia ”, an autogenous plant, small and medium-sized businesses -“ Megaplast-Irtysh ”,“ Ecostrandart K”and many others are the hallmark of the city of Omsk.

Omsk enterprises produce such things, which are important for the inside and outside market, as gasoline, rubber, tires, polypropylene, synthetic films, carbon black, technical gases and much more.

The share of the Omsk enterprises in whole-Russian industry is of technical carbon is 30%, styrol and benzene— 10%, rubbers — 36% and tires —13%.

“Omsk holds his leadership not only in the production of chemical products, —noted the Deputy Head of the Department of Industry, Innovation, Investment and Entrepreneurship of the Profile Department Vladimir Dorokhin. — High interest in chemistry among Omsk people of all ages. It is no coincidence that in 2019 Omsk took first place in the international popular scientific action "Chemical laboratory", dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the creation of the Periodic Table of D.I. Mendeleev, which was attended by residents of 250 cities from 30 countries of the world”.

JSC “Gazpromneft-ONPZ” — is largest the largest in terms of refining volume and one of the most modern oil refineries in Russia. This enterprise produces more than 50 types of petrochemical products: high-octane gasolines, diesel and marine fuel, jet fuel, bitumen, household gas, technical sulfur and other products in demand on the market. JSC “Gazpromneft-ONPZ” produces every eighth liter of gasoline, every seventh liter of aviation kerosene and every twelfth liter of diesel fuel in the country. The installed capacity of the JSC “Gazpromneft-ONPZ” exceeds 22 million tons of oil per year.

AO Group of Companies Titan is one the leading petrochemical companies in Siberia and enters the list of systemically important companies of Russia. Enterprises in Omsk, Rostov, Pskov, Nizhny Novgorod, Tula regions and other regions of the country are parts of this Group of Companies. The largest asset of the company is the AO “Omsky kauchuk” plant. At the end of 2019 AO Group of Companies Titan was a leader in the sector of the production of methyl tert-butyl ether (octane-enhancing additive to motor fuel) and synthetic butadiene- (methyl) styrene rubbers for general use. Its share of Russian market for every type of the abovementioned  products is more than 20%. It also returned two names of organic synthesis products - phenol and acetone.  It developed the new antiseptic gels and solutions production direction. The company capacity allows producing up to 800 tons of isopropyl alcohol-based production per month. This production supplies to 40 countries.

JSC “Omskshina” continues its glorious history within the “Kordiant” holding and specializes on the production of the truck tires of radial and diagonal structures for completing the flagships of the domestic automotive industry: “Ural”, “KamAZ”, “UAZ”, “GAZ”, “PAZ”. The plant produces more than 40 standard sizes and models of truck tires, which are installed on various buses, trucks, dump trucks, special and military equipment.

70% of “Omsk Carbon Group” products are exported. The company is one of the ten world producers of technical carbon, is developing dynamically, actively introducing innovations developed at the Center for New Chemical Technologies of the SB RAS.

“Poliom”, Ltd., (polypropylene plant) is one of the most modern and successful enterprises of the chemical industry in Omsk, one of the leading Russian producers of polypropylene. The plant can produce 34 types of brands that are in demand among domestic and foreign processers.
