Neftegaz.RU: The AO “Omsky kauchuk” has reduced the volume of gas to be fed to the flare

The company has installed a new pull head, which is designed for safer, smokeless combustion.

The AO “Omsky kauchuk” (a part of the GC Titan) has revamped the flare. This was reported by the company's press service.

Within the revamp program, specialists installed a new pull head, which is designed for safer, smokeless combustion. The system is equipped with modern monitoring and emergency shut-down systems. The flare is equipped as well with an automatic ignition device and a flame-out sensor ensuring high security level.

At the moment, a project to revamp two flares is being implemented at the Omsk Rubber Plant. Due to the improved automatic ignition system, the amount of fuel gas to be fed to pilot-flames inside the flare has been significantly reduced. Thus, using modernized facilities will reduce the amount of air emissions.

Now the plant continues to work on further modernization of production facilities, solving problems related to health and safety, improving reliability and safety, automation of processes, and implementing fundamentally new projects aimed at increasing the depth of hydrocarbon raw materials processing and manufacturing a wide range of import-substituting products, including low-tonnage ones.

The products of Omsk enterprise account for 22% of the total Russian MTBE market.

The products of the petrochemical enterprise make 26% of the domestic methylstyrene synthetic rubbers market. It is the second place compared to the other domestic manufacturers’ results. The AO “Omsky kauchuk” is also among leaders in phenol sales with a volume of 24% in the Russian market.

It is worth reminding, at the end of January 2021, Russian Deputy Prime Minister V. Abramchenko reported that Omsk ranked 5th among 48 cities with high air pollution regarding impact of the environment on human health.

At the same time, by 2024 the city is to reduce emissions by 22.5%, according to the May decree of the Russian president.
