Governor of Pskov region Mikhail Vedernikov mentioned the best volunteers at a meeting with representatives of the volunteer movement in the region on the platform of the creative space "Loft" in Pskov. During the event, Mikhail Vedernikov presented the first badges of honor "Honored Volunteer of the Pskov region. He thanked all the participants for being active. “I'm not going to list the events you've held and the good deeds you've managed to do - there are many of them. You show remarkable results not only in the Pskov Oblast, but also at federal platforms. Your work is noticeable and your work is important," the governor said.
Letters of Gratitude from the Pskov Oblast Administration were given to Olesya Gorokhova and Snezhana Ermolaeva, the coordinator of the “Eco-Saturday” Project, winners of the "#MYVMESTE (#WETOGETHER) International Award.
“I’m sure one day you will receive federal awards and badges because you are the most active volunteers in Pskov region and this is very good to know,” Mikhail Vedernikov added. He wished all the volunteers to continue their work and achieve great results.
During the meeting, representatives of the regional volunteer movement spoke not only about the results of this year but also shared their plans for 2022.
In particular, Snezhana Ermolaeva, the coordinator of the "Eco-Saturday" project of the Titan’s Pskov enterprise, spoke about the prospects of the "Eco-Saturday" project in Pskov region. Now work is underway to create two unique eco-spaces. The pilot areas will be the Korytovsky Forest Park and the campus of Pskov State University.
Ecological education and environmental protection are currently one of the key themes. In 2021 dozens of environmental events including eco-quests, roundtable discussions, and interviews, eco-lectures for workers, challenges, contests, and voluntary Saturday works were held.
The governor supported the idea of eco-space creation in Pskov and was ready to fully support the project implementation. Mikhail Vedernikov said that by the end of the year the Pskov region will receive more than 800 containers for separate waste collection. According to him, volunteers could be of great help in organizing educational work with the population on the formation of skills for separate waste collection.
In turn, Snezhana Ermolaeva, the coordinator of the "Eco-Saturday" project, noted that the environmental activists of the project are ready to carry out large-scale educational work in this direction. The environmental education program for the population of Pskov region will be presented by the activists in the near future.
