Ministry of Industry of Omsk region: «Omsky kauchuk» receives another batch of equipment for cumene production using updated technology

The capacitive equipment delivered to the Omsk plant was produced by Russian enterprises and fully complies with the necessary requirements in the field of ecology and industrial safety.

“Omsky kauchuk” plant, wherein cumene is going to be produced using updated technology, received another batch of process equipment. These are 7 cylindrical tanks for intermediate storage of finished products, the largest of which has a volume of 50 m3. Another 6 tanks will arrive before the end of summer.

"The equipment that has already been delivered to the site is custom-made by Russian companies for specific production tasks and meets the requirements in the field of ecology and industrial safety. The strength and tightness properties of the tanks were confirmed by hydraulic tests under excessive pressure in the presence of customer representatives," said Aleksander Gross, Reconstruction Project Manager.

11 heat exchangers — refrigerators, heaters and boilers, as well as 2 separators have already been delivered to the industrial site. Equipment supplies commenced in April 2019 and continue on a firm schedule.

The project for the reconstruction of cumene production facilities at “Omsky kauchuk”, which is implemented by the Group of Companies “Titan” with the support of the Russian Industry Development Fund, provides for an increase in production output by 33%. A peculiar feature of the reconstruction project refers to the conversion of production facility to a modern and environmentally friendly alkylation process based on zeolite catalyst. Thanks to the use of the best available technology, the environmental impact will be reduced by a factor of 16 due to the reduction of production waste and by-products, as well as the elimination of process effluents.
