Ministry of Economy of Omsk region: Power-efficient equipment will be installed at cumene production facilities of the PJSC «Omsk kauchuk»

In September, four Russian air-cooling units were delivered to the key enterprise of the Group of Companies “Titan” — “Omsky kauchuk” plant. The units were purchased for cumene production facilities under reconstruction and new isopropyl alcohol production unit.

The supplies of equipment for the reconstruction project of cumene production facilities were started in April 2019 and continue in compliance with the delivery schedule.

A batch of equipment (total weight 36.5 tons) arrived from the Republic of Bashkortostan. Air cooling units (ACU) were manufactured by Oktyabrskkhimmash Plant for Petrochemical Enterprise of the Group of Companies “Titan” under a special order. The equipment has a modular design and is equipped with automatic control system.

ACUs are intended for cooling the flows of target and intermediate products of cumene and isopropyl alcohol production with outside air.

Formerly, heat-exchange equipment was used in cumene production facilities for product cooling. Its replacement with air cooling units excludes use of water as intermediate heat carrier and, therefore, will help achieve a significant economic effect due to elimination of expenses for the treatment and supply of recirculation water.

Installation of air cooling units will ensure ecological benefit — its use excludes formation of process discharge and reduces total power consumption.
