The school tasks include developing an environmental culture among journalists and bloggers, and telling about environmental protection in the regional media and at a higher professional level.
A new educational project called Eco-school for modern media is being launched in Omsk region. The audience will include future and current journalists, bloggers, and press secretaries. They will improve their knowledge in the field of environmental protection and be given resources for deep coverage of environmental topics. The largest Omsk companies have supported the project. The AO GC Titan and the Gazprom Omsk refinery have become general directors. The Omsk Union of Journalists is the organizer of the Eco-school.
The participants will be taught how to find facts and process information and to use tools for in-depth information retrieval on the Internet and social networks.
A group of journalists specialized in ecology will be formed in Omsk region due to the project. The Eco-school will become a dialogue platform for mass media, industrial enterprises and ecologists.
“Omsk region is taking part in the implementation of the Ecology National Project. This topic is very relevant for our region. However, journalists do not always pay enough attention to it. The program of lectures and practical classes includes professional tools and methods to process information related to ecology considering the development of the digital media environment, legal and ethical knowledge in this field. Modern tools will allow creating better and more authentic content in a digital environment,” Andrei MOTOVILOV, chairman of the Omsk Union of Journalists, commented. “For the audience of our school we will organize tours to industrial enterprises of the region and to conservation areas.”
The audience will be divided into two groups – professional journalists and beginners (authors, school and college students). Each group will have its own educational program.
The speakers will be specialists of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Omsk region, representatives of the Omsk branch of the Russian Geographical Society, invited experts of the Russian Ecological Society, journalists of the federal media.
As part of the project, the Omsk Union of Journalists will hold a creative contest of special projects dedicated to environmental protection. The main prize is a trip to the All Russia Festival of Modern Journalism in Sochi.
All journalists who completed the training will receive certificates of participation.
The Eco-school starts on April 8, 2022. Applications for participation are accepted until April 5 by e-mail: dzhomsk@gmail.com. The first lesson will take place in the Omsk Union of Journalists, 34 Lenin St., at 12.00. You can address your questions by phone: 8-913-664-73-67, 8-999-458-09-82. Training is free of charge.
