“Kommercheskie vesti”: Domestic petrochemistry showed decent results in 2020

The Group of companies Titan, which is on the list of systemic company of Russia, review the preliminary results of its work in 2020. The company successfully passed the pandemic, saved its development rates and continued the large-scale invest projects implementation, which will promote the development of demanded law-tonnage chemical productions in our country.

During the outgoing year the Group of companies Titan implemented the list of important productions for the law-tonnage development. In December 2020 the grand opening of the upgraded phenol and acetone production at the plant “Omsky kauchuk” took place with the participation of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and the Governor of the Omsk Region Alexander Burkov. This project provides for increasing of capacity by one third, it is aimed at increasing of economic potential of Omsk region and creating of new high-tech work places. Phenol and acetone are materials for the further processes and products of which is material for other producers. For this purpose, the Group of companies Titan became one of the anchor residents of the special economic zone “Avangard”, which is being formed in Omsk.

The implementation of another project is progressing at a rapid pace at the site of the “Omsky kauchuk” plant. The project is reconstruction of cumene production with creating of isopropyl alcohol release unit. In accordance with the schedule, commissioning is underway with an output to obtain the final product at the production site. Alcohol produced from acetone in accordance with modern foreign technology will have a great quality and its production process is as environmentally friendly as possible. The new product is planned to be sold directly to the consumer, as well as for the demanded law-tonnage products manufactured on its base.

The site of Pskov enterprise of the Group of companies Titan looks impressive now. As part of the organization of the production of BOPET films, “Titan-Polymer” LLC installs the modern European technological equipment.

The important feature of the company work is following the principles of social responsibility. This was especially evident in the critical situation related to COVID-2019. In the pandemic situation the actual demand for the disinfectants is high, and in accordance with the production capacities of all divisions of another petrochemical enterprise of the Group of companies Titan - Novocherkassk Lubricant Production Plant LLC - were reoriented to the production of antiseptics. In autumn 2020 the Group of companies Titan was one of the first who responded to the appeal from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia to participate in the supply of oxygen, which is in demand in our country due to coronavirus infection.

In 2020 environmentalization has become another one priority area for the Group of companies Titan. “Omsky kauchuk” plant upgrades its industrial units to reduce the load on the atmosphere by 20%. It is provided by the objectives of the National project named “Ecology” and initiated by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Group of companies Titan also entered the list of developers of the corporate industrial ecological standard, which will be an instrument of self-regulation for the business in the area of environmental protection.

The company follows the policy of openness. It launched ecological monitoring on its site and social nets and every day posts information about condition of atmosphere air in the zone of influence of the “Omsky kauchuk” plant. Group of companies Titan constantly interacts with the public on the Internet through its Information Center.

“More than 30 years we participate in the chemical sector development and implemented truly disruptive initiatives, but 2020 became a challenge for us and for the Russian and global industry,” the founder of the company and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AO GC Titan Mikhail Sutyaginsky said. “But despite everything, this we spent this year very productively and worthily represented our company on the Russian and global levels. We saved and multiplied our achievements. This year showed us the importance and necessity of new invest projects we implement and especially our perspective projects in the area of law-tonnage chemistry.”
