Business Russia LLC: Mikhail Sutyaginsky spoke at the Innoprom session on the chemical industry

The participants discussed the prospects of the low-tonnage chemistry development in the post-pandemic period

The session on “Innovative Products for Low-Tonnage Chemistry: is the Industry Ready for Growth?’’ took place on July 22 within the framework of international industrial exhibition Innoprom and with the support of the Chemical Industry Committee of Business Russia. The representatives of business associations and industry companies, the experts in the chemical industry took part in the online-webinar. The event was moderated by the Deputy Director of Federal State Unitary Enterprise STC Himvest of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Igor Lyashkov.

In the course of a discussion process the participants discussed the law-tonnage chemistry perspectives in the post-pandemic period. Nowadays the mechanism for the complex development of the Russian industry is created and it supports the chemical industry enterprises both at federal and regional levels. The representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Russian Chemists Union and the heads of enterprises of low-tonnage chemistry spoke within the framework of the event.

The Chairman of the Chemical Industry Committee of Business Russia Mikhail Sutyaginsky addressed the participants of the webinar with a welcoming speech. The speaker explained that low-tonnage chemistry issues are raised to a higher level today and he expressed a gratitude for the cooperation to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. “I would like to say that current cooperation dynamics of the Ministry of Industry and Trade should be strengthened. Our committee has already come forward as the initiator on diversion of all areas of petrochemistry under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. We believe that the industry cannot be divided. The representative of Business Russia is convinced that there are already positive results in this regard that need to be developed.”

During the event Mikhail Sutyaginsky told about the work of Business Russia committee of Chemical Industry which is led by him in the area of the law-tonnage chemistry development as well as the importance of the area for the society. “During a pandemic we became convinced once again to what extent the mobility of low-tonnage chemistry turned out to be. The manufactures quickly switched to the production of goods in demand, such as antiseptics and the personal protection equipment”. Mikhail Sutyaginsky believes that the law-tonnage chemistry can become the growth point for the representatives of small and medium-sized businesses and it also can provide an opportunity to increase the range of products of large enterprises. “The very same catalysts are mostly connected with the law-tonnage chemistry. There are tens of thousands of them and some of them we import”.

He pointed out to the problems that industrialists face when they implement the projects in the field of low-tonnage chemistry; this is the must-have for the availability of feedstock and dependence on infrastructure, and he also specified the measures required to support the industry. “Law-tonnage chemistry production requires the supportive measures similar to those in special economic zones. Besides it is essential to strengthen support for the anchor residents of SEZ”. The GC “Titan” Omsk enterprises are included in the number of residents of the special economic zone “Avangard”, where measures to support manufacturers are defined.”

“Another support efficient measure is federal tax exemption for the enterprises, which produce the law-tonnage products sent funds to repay banking, the Industrial Development Fund and other financial institutions loans. Besides the large companies must have preferences if they have agreements with law-tonnage producers” - Mikhail Sutyaginsky concluded.

As a result of the event, the participants decided to continue working in the direction of the development of low-tonnage chemistry and agreed to hold a number of events on these issues at the Committee for the chemical industry of Business Russia site.
