Administration of Omsk region: A high-tech Laser Technology Center opens in Omsk

The Laser Technology Center (LTC LLC) furnished with advanced equipment for laser hardening of steels and alloys was opened on October 1. The technology mastered by the Center enables heat treatment of components to extend their useful life by 2-3 times. The Group of Companies “Titan” is a strategic partner of the new enterprise.

Deputy Minister of Industry, Communications, Digital and Technical Development of Omsk region Igor Lukyanov, representatives of JSC "Omsktransmash", JSC "Gazpromneft-ONPZ", JSC "STC Cryogenic technique", “Poliom”, Ltd and enterprises of the Group of Companies “Titan” took place in the LTC opening ceremony.

The Regional Government supported establishment of the Center. "This will allow us to bring the processes of industrial production in Omsk region to a new level of quality and reduce financial expenditure of the regional enterprises. It is especially important that this highly efficient complex is a completely Russian R&D product. It has no analogues in the territory of the region," commented Igor Lukyanov.

The LTC will render services on laser treatment of components to companies and machine-building enterprises of military-industrial complex in Omsk region as well as engineering services on implementation of the technological process into production cycles. The project has been implemented under strategic partnership between TermoLaser LLC and Group of Companies “Titan”.

"The laser station of Omsk LTC can deal with the most complex geometric items and components," informed Dmitry Chukhlantsev, Director General of TermoLaser LLC. "Machine-building, astronautic, metallurgical, oilfield service and other enterprises are among out clients and partners today. In particular, Rostec State Corporation — the largest machine building company of the country — is one of our key partners. We solve the problems crucial for industrial enterprises".

The Laser Technology Center is a brand new and unique enterprise for Omsk region. It is equipped with a laser beam machine (LK-5B), which is one and only machine in the region. Modern equipment is intended for thermal strengthening of critical products and machine building components operating in conditions of excessive wear. Laser quenching of products can increase their service life by 2-3 times, as well as enhance corrosion and heat resistance properties. This method helps save time and resources. Besides, laser quenching is a safe and eco-friendly way of treatment since there are no components in the process cycle that may cause harm to human health.

The opening ceremony of Omsk LTC included demonstration of operational capability of the laser beam machine (LK-5B) and a research-and-engineering workshop for clients and partners of the Center.

The JSC "Omsktransmash" is one of the basic potential clients of Omsk LTC. Representatives of this company expressed the most active interest in technology brought from Vladimir. Representatives of the JSC "STC Cryogenic Technique" and “Titan-Agro” Ltd were also positive about perspectives of cooperation with the Center.

Laser beam machines for thermal hardening of steels were developed in Russia. They have been manufactured by the LLC "TermoLaser" (Vladimir) since 2015. This is the sole enterprise in the country implementing such projects. "TermoLaser" is a resident of Skolkovo.

Technopark, has 4 patents for technologies and devices used for the production of LK-5B. Today laser beam machines from Vladimir are purchased for industrial sites of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Vladimir and Omsk. Two machines were purchased for the needs of "Roskosmos".
