The mechanism of such interaction can be strategic sessions with the participation of all parties interested in creating favorable environment. The results of such sessions will be comprehensive roadmaps to improve the environmental situation in the regions. This was announced by the Deputy General Director for Corporate Communications of the AO GC Titan at the “Industrial Ecology” forum in Moscow.

“When the regional authorities develop an environmental action plan, it is important that community activists, industrial ecologists, representatives of science, mass media - all those who are ready to actively participate in the development of certain decisions - take part in this work. Then everyone will have awareness of the way how the roadmap will be implemented and what results it will lead to. Joint work can be carried out in the formats of strategic sessions and foresight sessions,” Alina Rybina said.

Regional action plans developed jointly with industrialists and the public will enable the performance targets of the federal projects to be updated and agreed upon. Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requires enterprises to increase import substitution, while the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment requires to reduce emissions. Such contradiction needs to be eliminated.

“Today, the enterprises themselves become a platform for environmental culture development among employees and residents of the regions, initiators of social-environmental movements, organizers of special events. We suggest that such activities should also be included in the plan of regional events to expand the audience and work more actively with the residents,” Alina Rybina concluded.
