On June 15, at SPIEF 2023, an agreement was signed on the creation of an engineering center in Pskov region. The Pskov News Agency was informed about this by the press service of Titan-Polymer.
The objective of the cooperation agreement is to establish a strategic partnership and achieve a long-term, efficient and mutually-beneficial cooperation as part of preparation and implementation of the investment project for the creation of the engineering center in Pskov region. The document was signed by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Acting Governor of the Omsk region Vitaliy Khotsenko, Governor of the Pskov region Mikhail Vedernikov and Chairman of the Board of Directors of GC Titan Mikhail Sutyaginsky.
The engineering center will make it possible to create conditions for better social and economic development and scientific potential of Pskov and Omsk regions. Another objective is to help implementing science and technical and innovative policy as well as scientific analysis and research related to the manufacturing of new products based on various modern polymer materials.
"The implementation of a new investment project to create an engineering center is a great scientific contribution to the development of chemical and petrochemical industry facilities, as well as other sectors of the economy and industry. The engineering center will contribute to the training of high-class specialists in accordance with the changing needs of the industry, as well as to the development and implementation of new knowledge-intensive technologies and materials based on polymer products," said Denis Manturov.
"We believe that the implementation of this project will ensure that a list of socio-economic development initiatives of Russia will be accomplished until 2023 and that the objectives of the Chemical and Petrochemical Complex Development Strategy will be achieved until 2023 as well," said Mikhail Sutyaginsky.
Governor Mikhail Vedernikov emphasized that the agreement had united Pskov and Omsk regions in terms of the chemical industry development. The head of the region noted that with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Denis Manturov the Titan-Polymer plant, which produces import-substituting BOPET films, had been built. The production line was launched at the end of last year with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Now we are launching an investment project to create the engineering center where young specialists will be able to develop and produce new polymer materials. In the future, an entire industrial cluster will be created around the plant, which will create new jobs, strengthen the economy, and promote further development of small and medium-sized businesses. We are aimed at a long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation," summarized Mikhail Vedernikov.
"Interregional cooperation today plays an important role in achieving technological sovereignty. Omsk region has scientific and technical potential. We have strong universities, serious developments in the petrochemical industry. Consolidation will strengthen the economies of both regions and provide the country with highly qualified specialists," emphasized Vitaly Khotsenko.
Cooperation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the governments of Omsk and Pskov regions and GC Titan will open new prospects for the development of petrochemical and chemical industry, which will further contribute to the growth of the country's economy.
