Omsk-Inform: The third intake training of Eco-School for Modern Media started in Omsk

The educational project for journalists, bloggers, students and schoolchildren involved in environmental programs was supported by AO GC Titan.

On September 14, the first study session of the Eco-School for Modern Media will be held in Omsk, with more than 20 people attending. The educational project is designed for journalists, bloggers, eco-activists, press secretaries, as well as schoolchildren and students involved in various environmental programs. During training, participants will be able to meet with federal experts, visit industrial enterprises and specially protected natural areas.

The Group of companies Titan and Omsk Refinery of Gazprom Neft became the general partners of the project. In addition, Eco-School is traditionally supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Omsk Region and the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society. Representatives of the regional government also attended the opening of the new Eco-School season.

- There are several areas of work to improve the environment. We are introducing environmentally friendly public transport. We are gasifying small house suburbs, 2354 housing developments are planned to be gasified this year. Despite the sanctions pressure, enterprises continue to implement measures on ecological modernisation. Large-scale work is also in progress to reclaim landfills, one of which - in the Central District - will be reclaimed this year, three more - in 2024, - Vice Governor Dmitry Ushakov commented on the start of the educational project.

According to the project promoters from Omsk Union of Journalists, Eco-School students will be able to improve their competencies in the field of environmental protection, receive tools to cover environmental topics in greater depth, and learn to analyse information correctly. An important component of the training course will be the issues related to the implementation of the national project "Ecology" on the territory of Omsk Region, preservation of the forest resources and water bodies ecosystem, improvement of air quality and reclamation of landfills for solid municipal waste. In general, the project will make it possible to form a pool of journalists specialising in environmental issues in Omsk Region.
