Omsk. April 20. INTERFAX-SIBERIA – the AO “Omsky kauchuk” plant has launched a compressor unit that will reduce the environmental impact. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Industry.
“The new domestic automated compressor unit for butane and butane-butylene fraction discharge from tank cars is rigged up in the storage workshop receiving gas feedstock and shipping finished products. The compressor unit makes it possible to condense the gases generated during the discharge of butane and butane-butylene fractions from the tank cars and turn them back into liquid, which eliminates nitrogen using and necessity of vapor disposal,” the report says.
The launch of this system has become another stage in the environmental modernization of the plant. This unit will make it possible to recycle up to 400 tons of hydrocarbon gases.
According to General Director of the AO GC Titan Olga Tarasenko, the environmental modernization of the plant's industrial site undertaken by the AO GC Titan allows the company not only to reduce the environmental impact but achieve a significant economic effect.
Omsk is one of the cities participating in the federal project "Clean Air" aimed at reducing air pollution in large industrial centers. Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko noted that Omsk ranks fifth among the cities with the most polluted air. At the same time, the region must reduce total emissions by at least 20% by 2024.
Omsky kauchuk produces several brands of rubbers, latex, high-octane additives for fuels and other chemical products, and is the only Russian producer of cumene that exports its products, mainly to Finland and the Netherlands.
The AO GC Titan produces and sells synthetic rubber and phenol; produces and recycles agricultural products, unites a group of petrochemical (Omsky kauchuk, Titan – SM) and agro-industrial (Pig-breeding complex “Petrovsky”, Feed mill “Pushkinsky”, Meat processing plant “Pushkinsky”) companies. Three brothers Alexander, Mikhail and Yuri Sutyaginsky are the co-owners of the Group of companies.
